The Best Ager Tour is a privately organized charity-march from Nijmegen, Netherlands to Düsseldorf, Germany, and it is scheduled to begin on May 19, 2023. The tour will be conducted by four members of the running team “Team H.U.L.K.”: Florian, Carsten, Patrick & Andre.

project idea
With our project, we aim to support children and senior citizens living in disadvantaged circumstances.
Our tour begins on May 19th in the Kronenburgerpark in Nijmegen and continues through the cities of Uedem, Sonsbeck, Kamp Lintfort, and Duisburg, and it ends in Düsseldorf. The tour will cover approximately 123 km and is estimated to take between 30 to 36 hours, together with the breaks taken. However, we will not be sleeping during the tour.
Of course, an action like this has limited impact, but we believe that it can make a positive difference in the lives of some children and retirees affected by poverty.

Our march will be focusing on organizations that aid children and senior citizens living in poverty.
In order to help children, we have decided to support the organization Kinderhelfer mit Herz e.V.. Founded in 2010, the association is highly committed to helping children and adolescents who suffer from poverty in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). In NRW alone, nearly 1 million children live in poverty. Many of these children do not have breakfast in the morning or a hot meal at lunchtime. They therefore sit at school hungry and go to bed hungry. These children often lack proper clothing and a loving home.
Very often these children have no one to be there for them and take care of them. It is an undeniable fact that children who are surrounded by poverty, hardships and suffering on a daily basis find it difficult to maintain hope, to seize opportunities, and to prepare for their future. For these and many other reasons, Kinderhelfer mit Herz e.V. is a praiseworthy organisation with its efforts in combatting child poverty. What particularly impresses us is that every penny donated to Kinderhelfer mit Herz e. V. reaches the children in need, since the board members of the organisation cover all administrative costs out of their own pockets.

In order to support our elderly fellow citizens, we have decided to benefit the organization Ein Herz für Rentner e.V.. According to statistics released by the Federal Government in 2019, 9.3 million pensioners in Germany are affected by poverty. Many of those affected have worked all their lives, raised children, and significantly revived our economy after the war.
Nevertheless, their pensions are often not even enough to cover the bare necessities. Ein Herz für Rentner e.V. stands up for pensioners in Germany, provides them financial support and gets them out of their loneliness. We find their efforts very impressive, and therefore we would like to make a contribution to the organisation so that they can continue doing such great work in the future.
